Singer-songwriter Angie Stone has tragically passed away at the age of 63


According to reports, her representative, Deborah R. Champagne, confirmed that Stone was involved in a fatal car crash after leaving a performance in Montgomery, Alabama early on Saturday morning.
Angie gained recognition as a member of The Sequence, the first all-female group signed to Sugar Hill Records. The group released three albums between 1979 and 1985, 
including their iconic song “Funk You Up.” This track has been widely sampled over the years, appearing in hits like Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and Dr. Dre’s “Keep Their Heads Ringin’.”
The singer later embarked on a solo journey in the 1990s’, and released her debut album Black Diamond, which went gold in the U.S. She then she released what became 
one of her most popular songs, “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.”
